Hello! We’re Ben & Wendy, and we live in Whangārei, New Zealand with Sam, our awesome Jack Russell.

In 2019, we bought a new Mercedes. It was beautiful – except for the bright orange registration pouch in the windscreen…

We decided to make our own custom-made registration pouch to give our car the final touch it needed. We loved the design we created, but found we only had the option to buy 500 units. Nevertheless, we bit the bullet and turned to our local vehicle enthusiast group on Facebook to sell the remaining pouches.

The response was so big that we started Filthy Dog in 2020 – our B2C company for small quantity prints + decals. Filthy Dog offers hundreds of existing designs and affordable options for individuals and gifts – check us out here.

As we grew our business, the different types of people, clubs and brands we served grew too. We started Huffi in 2023 to better cater to our fast-growing and diverse client base. As well servicing the automotive industry, we are proud to help clubs, organisations and local businesses find high-quality, customised vehicle branding accessories in bulk from a local, New Zealand supplier.

Founder & Operator

From web designer to joiner to refinery operator – Ben’s career has taken a wild ride, and his multi-industry experience has given him a fresh perspective on product design and what makes a business work. A jack-of-all-trades, Ben is often learning a new skill, discovering the next best product, or going down a rabbit hole of research on behalf of a client. His favourite kind of fuel is a cup of supreme coffee, loves a pun and will spend hours cleaning his Mercedes to make it as shiny as possible.

Founder + Marketing Manager

As an ex-kindergarten teacher with a diploma in business, Wendy brings an insightful approach to communication strategy and creative thinking. She loves the art of simplifying complex things, has seemingly endless amounts of patience and a surprising knack for imitating animals on the dance floor. Wendy’s happy place is either a tropical island with a chilled coconut water in hand, or at the local park training her Jack Russel, Sam.

Product Tester

If Sam isn’t lazing about in a sunny corner of the workshop, he’ll be lapping up the wind from the passenger window, or keeping the team’s morale high thanks to his ever-growing repertoire of tricks. With a real nose for business and a fur-nomenal ability to seek out things that grab one’s attention, Sam is not your average employee. In fact, he’s the only staff member with four legs…
